Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bitblast?

You can think of Bitblast as a browser based torrent client. It lets you save, download, and stream torrents all without leaving your web browser.

How does it work?

Bitblast uses cloud technologies to fetch torrents securely on your behalf and serve them to you.

Why does it cost money?

The torrent protocol cannot be implemented directly in the browser so it requires having a server component to be able to fetch the pieces of the files. Scaling and keeping these servers running is not cheap.

Why should I use this when there are free alternatives?

There are a number of advantages of Bitblast over traditional torrent clients.

How do I request a torrent?

In order to request a torrent you have to first find a link to a torrent file or a magnet uri and then paste it into the textbox on the homepage after you log in.

After that you will see a list of information and files related to that torrent. From there there will be options to select files, download them, or view them in the browser.

Bitblast itself is not a torrent search engine. It can only obtain torrents on your behalf after you already have a URL.

Where are the files stored?

We do not store any files permanently. When you request a file it is streamed to you from one of our servers to your browser. It is cached on disk for a short period of time and then removed.

Can anyone see what I request?

No. When you request something it is served to you directly. There are no logs on the server about requests or where they came from.

Anything you save or watch is stored encrypted in our database using ECIES (Elyptical Curve Integrated Encryption Scheme) and 256-bit AES keys. Only you are capable of decrypting your data.
